Fed 1984 Surveillance Center to Open in Oakland

J.P. Massar holds a sign showing his opposition to the planned
Federal "Domain Awareness Center" in Oakland, Calif.,

The Big Brother Police State
"I don't want to live in a city that is testing this giant surveillance system, because I believe it is going to be used to criminalize normal existence."
Oakland Resident at City Council Meeting

1984 is Here  -  Democrat, Republican, liberal, conservative.  It does not matter.  The Ruling Elites of both political parties have joined arm-in-arm to fund and build an unconstitutional and nationwide 1984 Surveillance State spy system.

When the local people dare to protest against their Masters they are slapped down and mocked as "crazy fringe loons" who don't understand what Big Brother is trying to do for them.

Oakland's City Council voted to move ahead with controversial city surveillance center during a raucous council meeting Tuesday morning that only ended when the police cleared out the chambers.

The council voted 6-1 to approve an incremental resolution allowing the city to hire a new contractor to assemble the Domain Awareness Center, a surveillance hub that would allow police and city officials to continuously monitor video cameras, gunshot detectors and license-plate readers across the city.

Dozens of Oakland residents, deeply worried the center would allow the city to spy on people's everyday lives, tried to turn the resolution into a referendum on surveillance and persuade council members to stall, or scrap, the process reports the San Francisco Chronicle.

"Nobody in Oakland wants to be monitored 24/7," said Oakland permaculture designer Ryan Rising, 25. "I see it as a pilot program for other cities to build their own surveillance centers."

But the effort didn't seem to change many minds, even as members of the council struggled to discuss the issue over deafening chants of protesters demanding the council delay a decision: "Table it! Table it! Table it!"

"I call to question," Council President Pat Kernighan yelled at her colleagues over the din, indicating it was time to vote. "Can you guys hear me? I call to question!"

Six members of the council approved the resolution in a voice vote. Councilwoman Lynette Gibson McElhaney voted against the resolution, saying later that she had too many unanswered questions about the process of completing the center. Councilman Larry Reid was absent. As forceful chants of "Shame! Shame! Shame!" broke out after the vote, Kernighan asked police to empty the chamber.

At issue is the domain center, a proposed city and port project to link dozens of traffic and surveillance cameras with police and fire dispatch systems, Twitter feeds, crime maps, gunshot-detecting microphones and alarm programs.

City officials say the center, which will eventually cost $10.9 million in federal grants, would allow authorities to improve their response to crime, terrorism, earthquakes, fires or hazardous materials incidents.

Once it is operational in July 2014, the center on Martin Luther King Jr. Way will be monitored 24 hours a day by a police officer, a police analyst and a person from the Port of Oakland.

City officials claimed the center would mostly be used during emergencies (Bullshit) like earthquakes, fires, protests and tsunamis, but many residents were skeptical.

"I don't want to live in a city that is testing this giant surveillance system, because I believe it is going to be used to criminalize normal existence," said Magdalena Kazmierczak, 24, who lives in West Oakland.

The Government Owns Your Children

Pick your up kids from school & go to jail
  • With school dismissed a father was arrested for attempting to pick his kids up from school in a startling new example of how the state is increasingly treating children as its own property.

A Cumberland County, Tennessee father didn't want to wait in a long line of traffic to pick his kids up from school. That led to a series of encounters last week at South Cumberland Elementary, and now the dad's facing charges.

"I'm going to call some help down here and we're going to take you up to the jail right now. I'm not putting up with this today. You're being childish and it's uncalled for," Sheriff Deputy and School Resource Officer Avery Aytes said in the YouTube video.
.
The video goes on to show the dad arguing with the school security officer over state law, then the dad winds up in handcuffs reports ABC WATE News.

"I'm not raising my voice, I'm not confrontational, I want my kids," Jim Howe said in the YouTube video.

The video was taken by Amanda Long Thursday afternoon as she and her fiance, Jim Howe, were trying to pick up Howe's two children from school. It shows Howe arguing with Deputy Aytes.

Howe says, because of a new policy that started last week, the only way parents can get their children after 2 p.m. is to wait in a line of cars until everyone is released at 2:35. He says not only is this time consuming, it's illegal.

"You don't need a reason as a parent to go get your children. They are our children," Howe said.

As the video shows, Howe was arrested by Aytes for disorderly conduct. Deputy Aytes tells 6 News he's unable to comment because this is an open case. Cumberland County Sheriff Butch Burgess says he hasn't seen the video and doesn't need to, because it won't tell the whole story. He says Aytes was just doing his job.

Feds to track your car's speed, location and number of passengers

Watching You 24 Hours a Day

Before the end of this year, the unelected National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will decide whether or not to begin the rule making process to mandate that newly manufactured cars include what is being called “vehicle-to-vehicle” (V2V) communications technology that constantly broadcasts via radio wave the car’s location, direction, speed and, possibly, even the number of passengers it is carrying.

NHTSA sees this technology as the first step on a “continuum” of automotive evolution that will ultimately lead to fully automated vehicles navigated by internal electronics linked to external infrastructure, communications and database systems reports CNS News.

The government would the capability to exert increasing control over when, where, if--or for how much additional taxation--people are allowed to go places in individually owned vehicles. It could also give government the ability to track where people go and when.

There would be six components that would be deployed in vehicles equipped with V2V. These included:
  1. a Dedicated Short Range Communications (DSRC) radio that “receives and transmits data through antennae,”
  2.  a GPS receiver that “provides vehicle position and time to DSRC radio” and “provides timekeeping signal for applications,”
  3. an “internal communications network” that incorporates the “existing network that interconnects components” in the vehicle,
  4. an electronic control unit that “runs safety applications,”
  5. a driver-vehicle interface that “generates warning[s] issued to driver,”
  6. a memory that “stores security certificates, application data and other information.”

"People simply disappeared, always during the night. Your name was removed from the registers, every record of everything you had ever done was wiped out, your one-time existence was denied and then forgotten. You were abolished, annihilated: vaporized was the usual word."

Supreme Court refuses to review unconstitutional spying

The Buck Stops Somewhere Else
"Conservative" Supreme Court Justices run for the hills
rather than address unconstitutional 1984 spying.

Why Conservatism????  -  One has to ask why Conservatives exist.

The "Conservative" Republican Chief Justice John Roberts rubber stamped Socialist-Fascist Obamacare.  And now the Conservative majority Supreme Court has refused to even review the unconstitutional wholesale spying on and recording of billions of American emails, text messages and phone calls.

The GOP says "vote for us so we can appoint Federal Judges."  OK.  Fair enough.  But then lovers of Liberty get screwed over on vital issues by GOP appointed judges.

The Supreme Court announced Monday morning that it would not be considering at this time a complaint filed months earlier that challenged the legality of the National Security Agency’s dragnet telephone surveillance program.

The high court issued a notice early Monday without comment acknowledging that it would not be weighing in on a matter.  The issue was introduced this past June by a privacy watchdog group after NSA leaker Edward Snowden revealed evidence showing that the United States intelligence agency was collecting metadata pertaining to the phone calls of millions of American customers of the telecommunications company Verizon on a regular basis reports RT News.

That disclosure — the first of many NSA documents leaked by Mr. Snowden — prompted the Washington, DC-based Electronic Privacy Information Center, or EPIC, to ask the Supreme Court to consider taking action that would end the collection of phone records on a major scale.

When EPIC filed their petition in June, they wrote, “We believe that the NSA’s collection of domestic communications contravenes the First and Fourth Amendments to the United States Constitution, and violates several federal privacy laws, including the Privacy Act of 1974 and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 as amended.”

We ask the NSA to immediately suspend collection of solely domestic communications pending the competition of a public rulemaking as required by law. We intend to renew our request each week until we receive your response,” EPIC said.

Five months later, though, the Supreme Court said this week that it would not be hearing EPIC’s plea. A document began circulating early Monday in which the high court listed the petition filed by the privacy advocates as denied.

Socialist Democrats on a Job Killing Rampage - A 95% Drop in Jobs

Porn Star Sunny Leone

Democrats Drive Porn Jobs Out of L.A.
  • Liberals work overtime to crush job creation and then they wonder why there is not enough tax money to pay for government.

The number of permits pulled to make porn films in Democrat controlled Los Angeles County has declined an estimated 95 percent — from about 480 issued in 2012 to only 24 through the first nine months of this year — since a law requiring adult film actors to use condoms took effect, officials said Friday.

Film LA, a private nonprofit that issues permits for filming in Los Angeles County, cautioned that its 2012 figures were just an estimate because it did not specifically track porn films until the condom requirement took effect in March 2012 reports the Associated Press.

Now that it does, the organization said only 24 permits were issued this year as of mid-September.
.
The adult film industry trade group, the Free Speech Coalition, said those numbers show the law adopted by voters is costing the county hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The Los Angeles Times reported that the porn industry employs about 10,000 people as actors or in technical supporting jobs.

Larry Flint of Hustler said, "We won't be doing anything in Los Angeles."  He is already making plans to shift production to Mexico, Arizona or Hawaii.

The group's executive director, Diane Duke, said a typical porn film permit costs about $1,000, meaning the county lost about $456,000.

"And if you think about the associated vendors and jobs that have gone elsewhere, I think that speaks volumes about what this is costing," she said.

Duke said some filmmakers went to neighboring counties, while others headed out of state.
.
Some smaller producers could also be forgoing permits to keep from drawing attention to themselves.

Government computers hacked - I don't believe a word of it

A locked file cabinet - Computer theft of government secrets is now solved.

Bullshit Alert
The FBI claims hackers broke into government computers.
I say it is all Bullshit and Lies. It never happened.

According to a press release, the FBI says activist hackers linked to the collective known as Anonymous have secretly accessed U.S. government computers in multiple agencies and have stolen "sensitive information".  Whatever the Hell that means.

The FBI claims the breach affected the U.S. Army, Department of Energy, Department of Health and Human Services, and perhaps many more agencies reports Reuters News.

I will say it right here.  Right now.  The government is lying to us.

The government claims they were hacked, but there is no way for any outsider to prove the truth of that claim.  I suspect it is yet another phony statement to make Americans afraid enough to give away their rights to a Police State in return for "security".

I have only two real questions:
  1. Why is this "sensitive information" connected to the Internet in the first place?
  2. Who has been fired for connecting this "sensitive information" to the Internet for any pimple faced 16 years hacker on earth to look at?

But Big Brother will never answer either question because this event never happened.

1984 Tracking Boxes in Seattle - Fully funded by the DHS

Big Brother tracking boxes in Seattle.

DHS Tracking Boxes in Seattle
  • Fully funded by the Democrat Senate and the GOP House, the DHS is building a domestic 1984 Police Surveillance State network to spy on every American 24 hours a day without a search warrant.
  • Liberals pretend to be for the "little guy" while Conservatives pretend to be for "small government".  But both sides are frightened to death of a free American people.

(UPDATE  -  Following a privacy outcry concerning a wi-fi “mesh network” being installed, the Seattle Police Department announced last night that it is temporarily deactivating the network.)

Police State  -  The Seattle Police have installed a network of 160 wireless "white box" access points that are mounted on poles across the city.  Every time a cell phone or other device looks for a Wi-Fi signal the white box recognizes it and stores that data for future use.  The network can record the last 1,000 locations of a person using their cellphone’s MAC address.

The network was bought with a Department of Homeland Security grant for $2.6 million reports KIRO 7 TV News.

This is a system that could lead to the permanent tracking of an entire city’s population.

"They now own a piece of equipment that has tracking capabilities so we think that they should be going to City Council and presenting a protocol for the whole network that says they won't be using it for surveillance purposes," said Jamela Debelak of the American Civil Liberties Union.

"We believe that people should be free to move about without having the government track their movements unless there really is reason to believe they're engaged in some criminal activity," said Debelak. Seattle police could not explain why the network appears to be online.

report by The Stranger, a weekly Seattle newspaper, exposes how the boxes, which are attached to utility poles and include vertical antennae, can track cellphones even if they are not connected to the system’s wi-fi network.

Aruba – the company that provided the boxes to the Seattle Police Department – brags in its technical literature about how the boxes can keep track of “rogue” or “unassociated” devices, in other words your cellphone even if you have refused to let the system access your device’s wi-fi component.
The user’s guide for one of Aruba’s recent software products states: “The wireless network has a wealth of information about unassociated and associated devices.” That software includes “a location engine that calculates associated and unassociated device location every 30 seconds by default… The last 1,000 historical locations are stored for each MAC address.”
When reporters Matt Fikse-Verkerk and Brendan Kiley asked the Seattle Police Department and the Department of Homeland Security to explain what the boxes were for, the DHS refused to comment and Seattle Police detective Monty Moss would only state that the department “is not comfortable answering policy questions when we do not yet have a policy.”

Democrats to mandate porn stars wear goggles

Porn Stars Jessica Drake (right) and James Deen appear in a protest of
'condoms only' measure that passed in California, but the pair could soon be
complaining about the required use of goggles.

What the Fuck!
I think we just found a new use for Google Glasses.

The People's Republic of California  -  The insanity of Big Brother Liberalism knows no bounds.

First it was mandatory condoms in the California Porn industry. Now lawmakers want to make porn stars don more gear to keep them safe from infection from bodily fluids.

If an updated draft of Bill AB 640 goes into effect eye protection would be required during filming sex scenes, according to the proposed legislation.

Sexy lab technicians and plastic-coated germaphobes may soon be the hot new ticket in porn. And not by kinky viewers' choice.

The latest version of a California worker safety bill may require adult film actors to wear items like protective goggles while filming sex scenes reports the New York Daily News.

An updated draft of Bill AB 640 would not only prohibit state-wide performers from ejaculating onto the genitals, mouth or eyes, but require employers to provide "barrier protection" eyewear as well.

Bill AB 640 is currently awaiting review in the senate. If approved it would require "personal protective equipment" to "prevent contact of an employee's eye; skin, mucous membranes, or genitals with the blood or OPIM-STI of another."

The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health defines OPIM-STI as any bodily fluids, including fecal matter and those from wounds or sores.
.
This latest proposal comes exactly one year after condoms were mandated during filming of vaginal and anal sex scenes in Los Angeles County to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.

1984 - Over 7,500 drones in U.S. airspace spying on you for Big Brother

Gov't Licensed Big Brother Corporations
  • The Feds will be granting licenses for 7,500 so-called "private" commercial drones to spy on you, record you and store that data forever.  The Feds will tap into that information at will.
  • The 4th Amendment and the Bill of Rights are being abolished.
  • Like Verizon, AT&T, Google etc. these "private" drone companies will effectively be acting as licensed agents for a centralized 1984 Surveillance Police State and gathering information without search warrants.

The chief of the Federal Aviation Administration said that U.S. airspace could be crowded with as many as 7,500 commercial drones within the next five years.

Welcome to the brave new world of licensed private enterprise Big Brother corporations vacuuming up every last atom of data about you and turning it over to a centralized Big Brother Police State.  Search warrants?  Those are so 18th century.

The impending boom has raised concerns among privacy advocates about how and where drones might be used to collect data.

Christopher Calabrese, American Civil Liberties Union legislative counsel, told The Washington Times that while the FAA’s requirement for public disclosure of data and retention policies are needed and welcome, the safeguards do not go far enough reports the Washington Times.

“It’s crucial that as we move forward with drone use, those procedural protections are followed by concrete restrictions on how data from drones can be used and how long it can be stored. Congress must also weigh in on areas outside of the FAA’s authority, such as use by law enforcement and the Department of Homeland Security, which have the ability to use drones for invasive surveillance that must be kept in check,” Calabrese said.

Legislation has been introduced by Sen. Edward J. Markey, Massachusetts Democrat, and Rep. Ted Poe, Texas Republican, and Rep. Zoe Lofgren, California Democrat.

If passed, this legislation would require law enforcement agencies to obtain warrants before using drones to collect surveillance data on U.S. soil. “People are really worried about drone use. You see it in a huge number of state bills and laws, and I think the FAA needs to understand that if they don’t address privacy issues then drones are not going to be a useful technology,” he said. “Privacy can’t be swept under the rug.”

Verizon's New DVR Will Spy On You

AT&T is on the CIA payroll

Business + Government = Big Brother
Government gets around the Bill of Rights by having so-called "private" companies spy on their customers for them.

The C.I.A. is paying AT&T more than $10 million a year to assist with overseas counterterrorism investigations by exploiting the company’s vast database of phone records, which includes Americans’ international calls, according to government officials.

The cooperation is conducted under a voluntary contract, not under subpoenas or court orders compelling the company to participate, according to the officials. The C.I.A. supplies phone numbers of overseas terrorism suspects, and AT&T searches its database and provides records of calls that may help identify foreign associates, the officials said.

The company has a huge archive of data on phone calls, both foreign and domestic, that were handled by its network equipment, not just those of its own customers reports the New York Times.

The program adds a new dimension to the debate over government spying and the privacy of communications records, which has been focused on National Security Agency programs in recent months.

The disclosure sheds further light on the ties between intelligence officials and communications service providers. And it shows how agencies beyond the N.S.A. use metadata — logs of the date, duration and phone numbers involved in a call, but not the content — to analyze links between people through programs regulated by an inconsistent patchwork of legal standards, procedures and oversight.

Because the C.I.A. is prohibited from spying on the domestic activities of Americans, the agency imposes privacy safeguards on the program, said the officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity because it is classified.

Most of the call logs provided by AT&T involve foreign-to-foreign calls, but when the company produces records of international calls with one end in the United States, it does not disclose the identity of the Americans and “masks” several digits of their phone numbers, the officials said.

Still, the agency can refer such masked numbers to the F.B.I., which can issue an administrative subpoena requiring AT&T to provide the uncensored data. The bureau handles any domestic investigation, but sometimes shares with the C.I.A. the information about the American participant in those calls, the officials said.

Dean Boyd, a spokesman for the C.I.A., declined to confirm the program.

Obama raises a secret DHS "Domestic Security Force"

Now Hiring
The new Top Secret Obama Security Force

The Department of Homeland Security is to spend $19 million dollars on a private security force in Wisconsin and Minnesota, an armed unit that must have a “Top Secret” security clearance according to an official solicitation.

According to a solicitation posted on the Federal Business Opportunities website, the Federal Protective Service, a sub-agency of the DHS, intends to hire “armed Protective Security Officer (PSO) services at various locations throughout the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin,” reports Infowars News.

"Stand your ground. Don't fire unless fired upon,
but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here."
Captain John Parker
 Battles of Lexington and Concord.
“The project will have a requirement for the contractor to have a Top Secret facility clearance by the start of performance,” states the FPS notice.

Unlike previous solicitations, which normally detail how the guards will be deployed to protect government buildings, the document does not divulge what role the armed security force will undertake.

The fact that the contractors being hired must have a “Top Secret” security clearance clearly suggests that the DHS is not merely seeking to hire armed guards, but Blackwater-style mercenaries who will be engaged in some kind of clandestine activity.

The notion of an armed security force operating domestically under a “Top Secret” designation, something normally reserved for foreign spying and military operations, underscores how the DHS increasingly treats America like some kind of occupied territory.

The hiring of private mercenaries with Top Secret clearances also suggests the DHS may be planning on using the contractors as cutouts who will be involved in a variety of different operations outside the purview of public and Congressional scrutiny.

For some, the idea of an ever-expanding federal government turning to a private security force with a “Top Secret” clearance will stir memories of Barack Obama’s pre-election promise to build “a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded (as the US military).”

The DHS’ purchase of over 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition over the course of the last 12 months has also prompted concerns that the feds are gearing up for trouble.

Why do Conservatives support the Police State?

Charles Krauthammer - "Edward Snowden is a traitor."
Many people who claim to be small government
"Conservatives" close ranks to vigorously defend the
unconstitutional 1984 Surveillance State.

Two times this last week I got so so God Damned pissed that I turned Fox News off.  The first time was when Charles Krauthhammer called Edward Snowden a traitor.  The second time was when several so-called "Conservatives" on The Five parroted the same line.

That is one reason I call myself a Constitutional Federalist and not a Conservative.

On one hand, Conservatives claim they are "outraged" by the Big Government loving Comrade Obama.  Then on the other hand, a majority of Conservatives and Liberals work hand-in-hand to grow and fund the Police State.  The Constitution has no meaning to them at all.

Now we have Edward Snowden saying that calls for more oversight of government intelligence agencies showed he was justified.

In "A Manifesto for the Truth" published in German news magazine Der Spiegel on Sunday, Snowden said current debates about mass surveillance in many countries showed his revelations were helping to bring about change.

"Instead of causing damage, the usefulness of the new public knowledge for society is now clear because reforms to politics, supervision and laws are being suggested," the 30-year-old ex-CIA employee and NSA contractor wrote reports Reuters News.

"Citizens have to fight against the suppression of information about affairs of essential importance for the public. Those who speak the truth are not committing a crime," said Snowden.

"We have a moral duty to ensure that our laws and values limit surveillance programs and protect human rights," he wrote.

Snowden is in Russia, where he has been given asylum for at least a year.

In an open letter to Germany last week, Snowden said he was counting on international support to stop Washington's 'persecution' of him.

His revelations about the reach and methods of the NSA, including the monitoring of vast volumes of Internet traffic and phone records, have angered U.S. allies from Germany to Brazil.

Admirers have called Snowden a human rights champion. Others say he is a traitor for stealing information from the NSA after vowing to respect its secrecy policies and then fleeing first to Hong Kong and then to Russia with classified U.S. data.

In the manifesto published on Sunday, Snowden said mass surveillance was a global problem that needed global solutions and added that secret services' "criminal surveillance programs" jeopardized individual privacy, freedom of opinion and open societies.

The existence of spying technology should not determine politics, he said: "We have a moral duty to ensure that our laws and values limit surveillance programs and protect human rights".

A Sad Day for Democracy.
It fell to an authoritarian Russia to grant political asylum to whistleblower Edward Snowden (above document).  While Snowden hides from his own government, the Western nations build massive Big Brother systems to spy on hundreds of millions of their own citizens 24 hours a day.
.
If you dare to tell the truth you become an Enemy of the State.

The Delaware Regiment at the Battle of Long Island
.
Do "Conservatives" know our history?
Before the Declaration of Independence, George Washington commanded his 10,000 men to aim their guns and fire at the soldiers of the legal government of America.  Washington, Adams and Hamilton understood that just because a corrupt government passes a law that does not make it right.
.
But today we see so-called a majority of "small government" Conservatives joining with most Liberals to ignore the Bill of Rights in order to grow, protect and fund a centralized Police State.
