Government monopoly schools are often about indoctrination rather than learning to think for yourself. 

On Florida’s Atlantic Coast, some 200 or more local parents and activists have announced plans to show up at Tuesday’s Volusia County school board meeting to protest the public school use of a world history textbook that devotes a whole chapter to Islam but exactly zero chapters to any other religions.

The textbook, called simply “World History,” contains a 32-page chapter fondly devoted to “Muslim Civilizations.” Sections include descriptions of the Koran, the growth of the Muslim empire and the Five Pillars of Islam.



The planned protest will include a demand that students rip out the 32 pages of the Islam chapter unless the school district agrees to provide students with a similar amount of officially-sanctioned material concerning other religions, reports local ABC affiliate WFTV. says the Daily Caller.

“Christianity and Judaism is [sic] spread throughout the book,” a school district spokeswoman told WFTV.

The book’s supporters also argue that students know about Christianity but need to learn more about Islam because of its crucial importance in international affairs.

Critics of the textbook include District 2 Deltona commissioner Webster Barnaby, who told WFTV that he is only seeking equal time for other religions, specifically Christianity.

“The problem is: there needs to be balance. In America today, Christianity is being relegated to the trash heap,” Barnaby told the station.

“Why relegate Christianity to a footnote in an entire history book, and you give an entire chapter on the teachings of Islam?” he added.

As a school district spokeswoman noted, one reason school districts select this book is because it covers information required under Florida’s Next Generation Sunshine State Standards—the state’s version of the Common Core.

The same textbook is used in school districts across Florid and across the country.

Truth is an optional extra.

Somehow I doubt this textbook chapter on "Muslim Civilizations" tells the real truth about the massive campaign of invasion, murder, forced conversions and slavery that went hand-in-hand with the spread of Islam.

In full view of an apathetic public that often drools on itself while playing with their shiny new phones, the Feds are funding and organizing an American version of the Imperial Roman Praetorian Guard. 

This new Federally directed "Terrorist Police" will be, like the now Federalized National Guard, called into service when the Feds need more boots on the ground in local cities. 

A SWAT training exercise mounted by the Broward Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Customs & Border Protection, and the FBI portrayed “native born” Americans carrying out a terrorist attack on Port Everglades, part of the accelerating demonization of American citizens as domestic extremists.

The drill was based around “sovereign citizens” attempting to steal a shipment of ammunition traveling through the facility by seizing hostages and planting bombs as part of their wider agenda to overthrow the government.

 

“These weren’t foreign-born America-hating terrorists. These were native-born America-hating terrorists. And they were making things difficult for the good guys,” barks a dramatic Florida Sun Sentinel report.

 

The whole spectacle was basically an opportunity for the Fort Lauderdale Police SWAT team to show off its arsenal of militarized gear, including “Two Bears — massive armored vehicles with turrets for automatic weapons fire — a beefed up front-end loader that lifted an overturned car like a toy and Hummers packed with serious firepower.”

 

The exercise ended with the seven terrorists – being played by FBI agents – “neutralized” and all the hostages rescued.

Last month, former Marine Corps Colonel Peter Martino, who was stationed in Fallujah and trained Iraqi soldiers, warned that the Department of Homeland Security is working with law enforcement to build a “domestic army,” because the Federal government is “afraid of its own citizens.”

 

Speaking in relation to a decision on whether the Concord City Council would accept a $260,000 Homeland Security grant on behalf of the Central New Hampshire Special Operations Unit to purchase a BearCat armored vehicle, Martino cautioned, “What’s happening here is we’re building a domestic military,” adding that police are now “wearing the exact same combat gear that we had in Iraq, only it was a different color,” reports Infowars News.

 

Characterization of politically motivated Americans as domestic extremists has become a familiar practice for the DHS.

Sarasota, Florida  -  After leaving her operating room scrub nurse duties at Sarasota's Doctors Hospital on Wednesday, Louise Goldsberry went to her Hidden Lake Village apartment.

Her boyfriend came over, and after dinner — about 8 p.m. — Goldsberry went to her kitchen sink to wash some dishes.

 

That's when her boyfriend, Craig Dorris — a manager for a security alarm company — heard her scream and saw her drop to the floor.

 

Goldsberry, 59, said she had looked up from the sink to see a man “wearing a hunting vest.”

He was aiming a gun at her face, with a red light pinpointing her reports the Herald Tribune.

 

 

“I screamed and screamed,” she said.

 

But she also scrambled across the floor to her bedroom and grabbed her gun, a five-shot .38-caliber revolver. Goldsberry has a concealed weapons permit and says the gun has made her feel safer living alone.

 

But she felt anything but safe when she heard a man yelling to open the door.

 

He was claiming to be a police officer, but the man she had seen looked to her more like an armed thug. Her boyfriend, Dorris, was calmer, and yelled back that he wanted to see some ID.

 

But the man just demanded they open the door. The actual words, the couple say, were, “We're the f------ police; open the f------ door.”

 

Dorris said he moved away from the door, afraid bullets were about to rip through.

Goldsberry was terrified but thinking it just might really be the police. Except, she says she wondered, would police talk that way? She had never been arrested or even come close. She couldn't imagine why police would be there or want to come in. But even if they did, why would they act like that at her apartment? It didn't seem right.

Then, to the couple's horror — and as Goldsberry huddled in the hallway with gun in hand — the front door they had thought was locked pushed open. A man edged around the corner and pointed a gun and a fiercely bright light at them, and yelled even more.

 

“Drop the f------ gun or I'll f------ shoot you,” he shouted, then said it again and again, Goldsberry and Dorris say.

 

Goldsberry was screaming, but Dorris was the calmer one. He could see the armed man was holding a tactical shield for protection. Some zealous gun thug could have one, but, though it was hard to see much, Dorris decided this guy looked well enough equipped to be a cop on a serious felony raid.

 

Dorris remained frozen and kept his hands in sight. He saw more people outside, and decided it probably was a police action. But he started fearing that in this case that was not much better than a home invasion. With his freaked out girlfriend and the macho commando-style intruder aiming at each other and shouting, someone could be dead at any second.

 

Dorris told the man at the door he would come outside and talk to them. When he got permission and walked out slowly, hands up, he was amazed at what he saw as he was quickly grabbed and handcuffed.

The cop at the door, and some others, had words on their clothes identifying them as federal marshals, but there were numerous Sarasota Police officers, too, and others he couldn't identify, though his security company job involves work with police.

 

More than two dozen officers, maybe more than 30, were bustling around, many in tactical jackets.

It was like nothing he had ever seen.

 

 

“It was a Rambo movie,” Dorris said.

 

Soon Dorris yelled to his girlfriend that it was OK to drop the gun and come out, but Goldsberry was too afraid.

 

She had been yelling, “I'm an American citizen” and saying they had no right to do this. Their standoff continued several more minutes.

 

Then she set the gun down and walked out, shaking and crying, and also was quickly handcuffed.

 

They remained cuffed for close to half an hour as the apartment was searched for a wanted man who wasn't there, never had been, and who was totally unknown to them.

 

They were shown his picture.

 

Then they were released, the police left, and that was that.

I could care less about Zimmerman or Martin.  Frankly, like all of us, I have my own troubles to worry about.

What I find interesting is the Racial Witch Hunt created by the Leftist lap-dog Media looking for ratings, race baiters looking for donations and Democrat political hacks pandering to the low IQ mouth-breathers for votes.

The fact of the matter is thousands of people are killed every year by accident or otherwise.  That is why court systems exist.  But calm, cool, level headed trials do not make money or generate votes for the Media-Racism-Politician Industry.

George Zimmerman may have been acquitted of all charges in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, but the Media-Racism Industry is not through with him yet.  There is much more money to be made and votes to round up.

The next step is Zimmerman going through double jeopardy and and defending himself against charges from Comrade Obama'a Federal government and a civil case will no doubt come.

Leftists are pressuring the Justice Department to step in and bring a Federal civil rights case against Zimmerman, the Hispanic neighborhood watch volunteer.

You can expect this endless horror of race bating to be stretched out till the 2014 elections are over.

After all, you really did not think this was about justice did you?

Race Baiting Pimp Al Sharpton told Meet the Press host David Gregory Sunday morning about his plans to pursue civil rights charges against George Zimmerman, following the latter’s acquittal Saturday night for the murder of Trayvon Martin.

“Clearly there are grounds for a civil rights charges,” Sharpton told Gregory.

Publicity whore Sharpton was a key figure in metastasizing the shooting into a national issue in March of 2012, said he and Martin’s family had planned from the beginning to ask for a federal investigation if Zimmerman was let go.

“The mother and father of Trayvon Martin and I with their lawyers met with the U.S. attorneys in Florida, the day I went down to organize the first rally there,” Sharpton said. “We always said there needed to be a Plan B, but there needed to be a Plan A.”

“I watched the whole trial, and no one can say what Trayvon Martin did wrong,” Sharpton argued.

“‘They always get away with it,’ the gentleman said. Who is they getting away with what? That’s the basis of a civil rights trial.”

The president of an NAACP branch in Florida has petitioned members of the Lee County Commission to take down a painting of Gen. Robert E. Lee, calling the former Confederate leader a historic symbol of racism.

The painting of Lee has been up since 1929.  So one could say that the NAACP is looking to create an issue just for the sake of creating an issue.  Be that as it may, personally, I have no problem with taking down Lee's painting.

Sorry to any readers from the South, but Lee was a traitor and an oath breaker.  He swore to protect the Constitution and instead raised armies to kill those who kept their oath to the Constitution.  One can debate if Lee is a symbol of racism or not.  But there is no doubt he was a traitor.

Lee County was named after the general in 1887 — 22 years after the Civil War wrapped, the Fort Myers News-Press said.

But James Muwakkil, of the Lee County chapter of the NAACP, said the painting, which has hung in the county commission’s meeting room for years, divides the community.

“That painting is a symbol of racism. It’s a symbol of divisiveness, and it doesn’t unify Lee County. It divides Lee County,” Mr. Muwakkil said in a letter, the News-Press reported.

County Commissioner Larry Kiker said the commission would have to hold a public meeting on the issue.

“I would be looking for thoughtful conversation based upon the historical value and why it was put there to begin with, mainly because I don’t know too much about it,” he told the News-Press reported.

The painting hails back decades. The county’s commissioners in 1929 asked Virginia lawmakers to help them get a portrait of Lee, the paper reported.

Hanson was attacked by a Jeffersonian Democratic-Republican mob because his paper opposed the War of 1812.

Lee and Hanson and two dozen other Federalists had taken refuge in the offices of the paper. The group surrendered to Baltimore city officials the next day and were jailed. Laborer George Woolslager led a mob that forced its way into the jail, removed the Federalists, beating and torturing them over the next three hours.  Lee was left partially blinded after hot wax was poured into his eyes.

All were severely injured, and one Federalist, General James Lingan, died.
