Eleven U.S. House Republicans have drafted articles of impeachment against Attorney General Eric Holder, an action one lawmaker said wasn't done lightly.

The lawmakers plan to formally introduce their charges against Holder Thursday, Roll Call reported..The charges include the Justice Department's refusal to turn over documents on the failed gun-running Operation Fast and Furious, a refusal to uphold certain laws -- specifically the Defense of Marriage Act -- and a refusal to prosecute IRS officials who accessed tax records of political donors and candidates without authorization.

 The articles of impeachment also charge that Holder lied to Congress reports UPI News. Rep. Pete Olson, R-Texas, said the decision wasn't taken lightly. "Since the House voted in 2012 to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt, the pattern of disregard for the rule of law and refusal to be forthright has continued," Olson said in a statement to Roll Call. "The American people deserve answers and accountability. If the attorney general refuses to provide answers, then Congress must take action."

Olson told Roll Call that he would release the four articles of impeachment Thursday. On Wednesday, he released a document detailing the impeachment claims against Holder.

• Article I claims Holder "engaged in a pattern of conduct incompatible with the trust and confidence placed in him" by refusing to comply with a subpoena issued by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee for documents related to Operation Fast and Furious, which tracked guns crossing the U.S-Mexican border for use by drug cartels. One of the guns was used in the death of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry in December 2010.

 

• Article II of the proceedings charges Holder violated his oath by refusing to enforce certain laws the Obama administration determined it would not enforce, including the Defense of Marriage Act, which the administration deemed unconstitutional.

 

• Article III charges Holder violated his oath by "refusing to prosecute individuals involved in the Internal Revenue Service scandal of unauthorized disclosure of tax records belonging to political donors."

   
The last article accuses Holder of providing "false testimony to the House Judiciary Committee" concerning possible prosecution of Fox News reporter James Rosen under the Espionage Act.

Ten other Republicans are cosponsoring the articles of impeachment, Roll Call said. They are Phil Roe of Tennessee, Ted Yoho of Florida, Lynn Westmoreland of Georgia, Larry Bucshon of Indiana, Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, and Blake Farenthold, Randy Weber, Roger Williams, Bill Flores and Louie Gohmert, all of Texas.

In a shocking revelation made by a veteran U.S. counterterrorism expert, Judicial Watch reports that Hezbollah has infiltrated the Southwest United States by joining forces with Mexican drug cartels that have long operated in the region.

Judicial Watch has for years reported on the chilling connection between Islamic extremists and Mexican drug cartels. In fact, as far back as 2007 JW wrote about an astounding Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) report that lays out how Islamic terrorists and Mexican drug gangs have teamed up to successfully penetrate the U.S. as well as finance terror networks in the Middle East.

In Hezbollah’s case, a growing “business relationship” with cartels has allowed the Shia Islamic militant group to have a growing presence in the U.S., says Matthew Levitt, an esteemed terrorism expert with an impressive resume.

Levitt is a former counterterrorism intelligence analyst at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and State Department counterterrorism adviser. He also served as the No. 2 intelligence official at the U.S. Treasury where he operated the agency’s terrorism and financial intelligence branch reports Judicial Watch.

Levitt offers details of this mind-boggling collaboration between two powerful criminal enterprises in a new book titled: “Hezbollah: The Global Footprint of Lebanon’s Party of God.” A nonprofit dedicated to exposing the dangers of Islamic extremism, the Clarion Project, profiled the book in a recent article titled “Growing Hezbollah Presence in Southwest U.S.”  

Hezbollah’s business relationship with Mexican drug cartels is a driving force behind this phenomenon, according to the analysis that quotes alarming excerpts from the book. For instance in 2009, a former Chief of Operations for the DEA said that Hezbollah uses “the same criminal weapons smugglers, document traffickers and transportation experts as the drug cartels.”

A year later a man (Jamal Yousef) arrested in New York admitted stealing weapons from Iraq for Hezbollah and told authorities of a Hezbollah stockpile in Mexico that included 100 M-16 assault rifles, 100 AR-15 rifles, 2500 hand grenades, C4 explosives and anti-tank weapons. That same year a Hezbollah terrorist was captured in Tijuana and a senior Mexican military officer confirmed the group was conducting explosives training for members of Mexican drug cartels.

In the U.S., law enforcement officials across the nation’s Southwest region report a rise in imprisoned gang members with Farsi tattoos that experts say express loyalty to Hezbollah, the book analysis reveals. One U.S. law enforcement official is quoted as saying this: “You could almost pick your city and you would probably have a [Hezbollah] presence.”

MEXICO CITY — Leftist New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s name has been drawn into the debate over a proposed tax on soft drinks to fund weight-control efforts in Mexico, which now has higher obesity rates than the U.S.

President Enrique Pena Nieto’s proposal to raise $950 million from the 1-peso-per-liter soda tax has drawn the beverage industry’s wrath in the country with the world’s highest yearly soda consumption; the average Mexican consumes 43 gallons of soft drinks annually.

One peso is equal to about 8 U.S. cents.

The government wants to use tax income to install water drinking fountains in schools, most of which don’t have them, but soft drink bottlers, retailers and sugar growers have bought full-page ads and broadcast media spots opposing the measure.

Some ads target Bloomberg, who unsuccessfully backed a state tax on soft drinks in New York, then a ban on large sodas in New York City. Bloomberg’s charity has contributed to Mexican pro-tax groups.

“No al Impuesto Bloomberg” (“No to the Bloomberg Tax”) read the large type of several ads published in Mexico in recent days.

“Bloomberg … has the right to be crazy, but he doesn’t have the right to come here and impose his craziness on us,” said Cuauhtemoc Rivera, leader of Mexico’s National Association of Small Stores, a little-known business chamber that bought full-page ads in Mexico’s main newspapers for several days running.

The People's Republic of California  -  The People's State Senate on Monday approved legislation that would allow immigrants who are not U.S. citizens to "assist" American citizen voters in properly casting their ballots.

I can see it now.  Tens of thousands of "non-citizens" (translation - citizens of foreign nations) will be combing the nursing homes, retirement communities and low income areas to help voters "correctly" fill out millions of absentee ballots.

America is truly fucked.  Our own politicians have sold out American citizens to foreigners.
   
The measure from Assemblyman Rob Bonta, D-Alameda, would allow for up to five non-citizens to serve at a particular polling site. Those poll workers must be permanent U.S. residents who legally entered the country.



The proposed new flag for Alta California

Those residents could provide much-needed help to voters with limited English skills, said Sen. Norma Torres, D-Pomona, who presented Bonta's bill.

There are 2.6 million eligible California voters who are not fully proficient in English, reports the San Jose Mercury News.   

"These individuals have the absolute right to make fully informed voting decisions on Election Day," Torres said.     More than three dozen organizations involved in elections and immigrant advocacy have signaled their support for AB817.    

The California Association of Clerks and Election Officials wrote in a March letter to lawmakers that the measure would help counties recruit bilingual poll workers and deputy registrars.    

The Senate passed AB817 on a party-line vote of 22-10, with Republicans in opposition. It heads back to the Assembly, which must adopt minor changes made by the Senate.    

The measure cleared an initial Assembly vote in May. During that floor debate, several Republicans who opposed the bill said serving as a poll worker is a responsibility that should be reserved for citizens.

The Screwing of America  -  Neither the Democrats nor the GOP give a rat's ass about the average American.  The two parties are bought and paid for by special interests looking to ship American jobs to other countries and importing/legalizing millions of new workers to drive down wages and compete directly with American citizens for the jobs that are left.

The Washington Post reports in the division of labor that has long governed North American auto manufacturing, the Big Three and other companies typically have built their top moneymakers in the United States, using their Mexican plants to produce smaller, cheaper cars with lower profit margins.

But that division is breaking down. As Mexico cranks out record numbers of vehicles and attracts billions in new investment, Mexican autoworkers are increasingly able to match the skill and productivity of their U.S. counterparts — and at a fraction of the wages.

On Mexican assembly lines, wages are often six or seven times as low as in the United States.  For example, the average pay at one Mexican auto plant is $3.20 an hour.

Mexico is making nearly 3 million vehicles a year.

• General Motors is making its iconic Silverado pickup trucks in central Mexico’s Guanajuato state.
• Audi has announced that it will put its new $1.3 billion North American plant in the state of Puebla — it will be the first time luxury vehicles will be built in Mexico.
• Chrysler makes its muscular Hemi engines at the Saltillo Motors plant Ramos Arizpe in the deserts south of Texas. At another Chrysler plant nearby, $35,000 Ram pickups fly off the assembly line at a rate of one every 80 seconds.
• By 2016 as Nissan, Mazda and Audi add plants and other manufacturers ramp up production.
• GM said last week that it will invest $691 million to boost its Mexican assembly lines.
• Michigan-based auto parts giant Delphi is one of Mexico’s largest private employers, with more than 50 plants and 50,000 employees.

To some, particularly the United Auto Workers union and many of its 1 million active and retired members, the trend confirms dire predictions of U.S. industrial decline brought on by the 1994 North American Free Trade Agreement. Although U.S. assembly lines have recovered some jobs since the federal bailout, the industry’s long-term labor pull is southward to Mexico, where organized labor is feeble and rock-bottom wages are the rule.
