I'll proudly admit that I have been a lifelong fan of professional wrestling.  The drama, the athleticism, the sneaky backstabbing . . . this is real life on steroids.

So combine politics and wrestling and I am in heaven.

Pro-wrestler Glenn Jacobs, aka Kane, slammed the TSA in a recent speech before the Liberty Political Action Committee (LPAC), stating that the idea the government agency protects the nation is a complete joke.

Pro-wrestling and politics don’t often mix, but when they do it tends to get interesting, as Jesse Ventura will attest to. Jacobs pinned his Libertarian leanings to the mast some years ago, declaring his support for former Congressman Ron Paul. But recently, Jacobs has become more vocal concerning fierce protection of liberty from big government.

“Since I just flew in last night and it’s fresh on my mind, I thought that I would start with the TSA,” Jacobs told the group in a keynote speech from September that appeared on the LPAC website this weekend reports Infowars News.

“TSA is such low hanging fruit, I mean, anybody can bash the TSA.” Jacobs added, before launching into several of his own personal experiences at the hands of America’s Blue goon squad.

“I could talk about the time I tried to give a TSA agent a pocket constitution from the Young Americans for Liberty. He had to ask permission from his supervisor to accept it, despite the fact that as a federal agent, he’s sworn to uphold the thing,” Jacobs said.

“They always tell you to start your speech with a joke, and the idea that the TSA actually upholds the constitution, that’s the best joke I could possibly do, right?”

“In Australia, I bought a balsa wood toy boomerang as a souvenir,” Jacob said, referring to another incident.

“As I’m going back through security at [Los Angeles International Airport], I was informed that could not bring my balsa wood toy boomerang back on the plane because it was a weapon. So let me get this straight, they sell weapons at the Melbourne Australia Airport?”

Jacobs also spoke at length about Austrian economics and his research regarding the proposed internet sales tax, which he described as an unbelievable threat to freedom and personal privacy.

While Jacobs hinted earlier in the year that he was considering challenging Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) in the 2014 primaries, he appeared to rule that idea out in his LPAC speech, noting “I am not going to do that… I like hanging out at places like this way too much.”

“I like to show people that at least there is a ‘red pill’.” Jacobs noted, after saying that for him discovering Austrian economics was like waking from a Matrix style sleep and going very deep down a rabbit hole.

“There is an alternative,” Jacobs said, adding “lately I have found that more and more people are being attracted to the message of liberty.”

The sweeping re-election of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie proves moderates are an integral part of the Republican Party, Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky says.

"There's room in the Republican Party for moderates, like Chris Christie. They seem to be the only ones that are winning in the Northeast," Paul told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"The other thing that might happen in the Northeast, if we had a little more libertarian-leaning Republicans, they would have a chance in the Northeast," Paul said Wednesday reports Newsmax.

"But there's room for moderates, like Chris Christie, and he's got a place in the party."

But conservatives are still the driving force of the GOP, Paul says.

"Conservatives are a much bigger force than the moderates, but it doesn't mean that we want to exclude moderates from our party," he said.

Still, with a nod to Christie, Paul said moderate Republicans will have a tougher time getting the Republican nomination for president.

"The road to the nomination for a moderate is actually pretty difficult because a lot of the Republican primaries are very conservative," he said.

"And so, someone who's most well-known for grabbing up federal money as much as they can get, probably that kind of attitude may or may not go off so well in a Republican primary."

Paul says the Republican Party let down Ken Cuccinelli, the GOP candidate for governor of Virginia, who narrowly lost to Democrat Terry McAuliffe.

"Some of the establishment let us down in that race. If you look back to the race when [Bob] McDonnell won four years ago, the establishment put a lot more money in for McDonnell than they did for Cuccinelli," he said.

"Cuccinelli could have won if everybody had stuck with him . . . He got very darn close, people were coming his way. He just didn't have any money in the end.

Guess there's no more serious crimes to solve any more in metro-Seattle. No murders, rapes, thefts, burglaries.  Nah, much better for cops to spend their time and precious tax dollars on ruining a little entertainment for working class white guys on their way home from a hard day's work at the plant or shipyard. 

Fox News reports, "3 bikini baristas arrested at Washington coffee stand":

The service at a bikini espresso stand in Washington state was a little too hot, according to police. Three baristas at the Hillbilly Hotties coffee stand in Everett (just north of Seattle), were arrested Wednesday on charges of lewd conduct and violating the city’s adult cabaret law.

Police spokesman Aaron Snell told KOMO that authorities received complaints the women were exposing body parts and that “inappropriate things” were being done at the location. A 20-year-old and 21-year-old are facing ch  arges of violating the city's adult cabaret law. A 33-year-old was arrested for investigation of lewd conduct.

“There was a definite sense of they were willing to do more for extra money, and the way they carried themselves with male customers when they were in front of me,” Jennifer Faris, who buys coffee at a nearby stand, told KOMO.

Translation: They flashed a few patrons, Mardi Gras style, as if that's going to cause the downfall of the Republic.  

Note - Washington State is entirely run by Democrats top to bottom, with the exception of a split 50/50 lower House. Governor, Senators, almost all the Congressmen, State Senate, virtually all elected local municipal officials in major cities, like Seattle and Tacoma.

 

And of course, as we all know, white guys with a job are a politically incorrect constituency.  So, why not bust 'em and the women that give them a little entertainment served up with their coffee.  No political fallout there, like there would be for arresting Trayvon Martin-like urban Seattle/Everett youth.

People are frightened of Freedom.
It does not matter what race, culture or religion you are, so many people around the world are frightened to death that someone, somewhere, somehow might be having a good time without the written permission of the All-Powerful Police State.

Purple PAC makes a media buy for Libertarian in Virginia Governor's race

• The Purple PAC plans to spend at least $300,000 promoting Sarvis’s candidacy with TV ads.
• The Purple PAC was launched in 2013 to promote "purple" candidates - "red" when it comes to economic policy, "blue" when it comes to social policy.

The Purple PAC, a ”Super PAC” launched earlier this year, announced that it is making a significant ad buy promoting Libertarian Party candidate Robert Sarvis for governor of Virginia.  The ad will run from Thursday, October 24th, through the end of the election in media outlets across the state.

“Both the Republican and Democratic candidates are right about each other,” said Edward H. Crane, president of the Purple PAC.  “Ken Cuccinelli is a socially intolerant, hard-right conservative with little respect for civil liberties.  Terry McAuliffe is a big government liberal with little respect for economic liberties.  Both have been engulfed in scandal.  Fortunately, Robert Sarvis offers an alternative, an agenda grounded in free markets and social tolerance,” reports Uncovered Politics.

In a press release announcing the media purchase, Crane noted that a majority of Virginians — 59 percent, according to a recent poll — describe themselves as fiscally conservative and socially tolerant.

“It’s time that the two major parties made room for those voters — a majority of the electorate — or risk losing them altogether,” he said.

“Robert Sarvis is running surprisingly well in Virginia despite having little money to spend and no exposure in the gubernatorial debates,” continued Crane, a former national chairman of the Libertarian Party and founder and president emeritus of the Cato Institute, a libertarian think-tank.

“A strong showing by Sarvis will tell the political class that purple voters cannot be ignored or taken for granted lest campaigns be put at risk.  And there’s no better set of campaigns to put at risk than the desultory campaigns of Ken Cuccinelli and Terry McAuliffe.”

Crane, who serves on the board of the Center for Competitive Politics, told the Washington Post that Purple PAC plans to spend at least $300,000 promoting Sarvis’s candidacy.

According to its latest filings with the Federal Election Commission, the Purple PAC had raised $575,000 as of June 30th.  Its two largest contributors were Kentucky horse breeder Richard Masson and CATO board member and options trader Jeffrey S. Yass, managing director of the Philadelphia-based Susquehanna International Group.  Masson and Yass, a longtime libertarian financier, had each contributed $250,000 as of that semi-annual filing.

The voters like real choices on their ballot.  But the big money business and union supporters of the two major Virginia candidates for governor have spent almost $50,000,000 to tell the voters that they have only two choices.  Nobody gives huge contributions for nothing.  Naturally these big money backers will want pay back in one form or another from the state treasury.

In recent history some voters have bucked the big money trend to buy politicians and elected third party and independent governors in states such as Alaska (see below), Connecticut, Minnesota, Rhode Island and Maine.

When William F. Buckley, running as the Conservative Party’s candidate for mayor of New York in 1965, was asked what he would do if he won, he replied: “Demand a recount.”

Robert Sarvis, Libertarian Party candidate for governor of Virginia, will not need to do this.

William Buckley won only 13.4 percent of the 1965 mayoralty vote, but he energized a growing constituency and legitimized the practice of voting outside the confines of traditional political choices.

Five years later, the New York Conservative Party’s U.S. Senate candidate — Buckley’s brother Jim — was elected with 38.8 percent of the vote in a three-way race.

Third-party candidacies are said to be like bees — they sting, then die. Still, Sarvis is enabling voters to register dissatisfaction with the prevailing political duopoly.

Every two years it is the same question.  Do I vote for what I believe in?  or do I cast my vote for someone I don't like in order to stop another guy that I dislike even more?

In 1965 not enough people voted for 3rd party William F. Buckley.  But only five years later piss off voters elected Conservative Party candidate Jim Buckley as a New York Senator.

Libertarian Banned from Virginia Governor's Debate - Free Elections do not Exist in America

More Freedom in Russia?  -  Something serious is wrong in America.  The Parliament in authoritarian Russia consists of four different political parties.  While back here in the good old USA the same two parties "magically" win 100% of all elections.

This has not always been the case.  The U.S. used to have free elections and was a multi-party Republic.  But no more.  Through corrupt fundraising and discriminatory election laws the major parties work overtime to prevent anything that might remotely look like a free election.

Libertarian Robert Sarvis has been banned from the final candidates’ debate in the Virginia governor’s race, one of the co-sponsors said.

With the voters angry at the GOP and the Democrats, the Libertarians have risen to 11% in the polls.  That is a threat to both entrench parties and their corrupt money backers.

Sarvis, who is running as a third-party candidate in the Nov. 5 election, has become a wild card in recent weeks as his rising numbers in public polls appeared to reflect a distaste among voters for either major-party candidate.

WDBJ (Channel 7) of Roanoke, which is co-hosting the Oct. 24 forum with Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, said on its Web site that Sarvis did not meet the required threshold of public support as reflected in recent polls before Thursday’s deadline reports the Washington Post.

The two major parties and their lackeys ban smaller political parties from public debates.  But when the
smaller parties are doing well in the polls the big boys work extra hard to get them kicked off debates.

As a third-party candidate, Sarvis needed to draw support from at least 10 percent of those surveyed in major independent polls, as tracked by RealClearPolitics.com, over the past three weeks before the debate.  Naturally these are "required" percentages are totally made up numbers set by the entrenched major parties.

Sarvis issued a statement late Thursday criticizing a decision given a “patina of objectivity” but actually “designed to exclude.”

“A decision made two weeks in advance of the debate, an eternity this close to Election Day, based on an average of polls released over a three-week window effectively anchors us to the lower numbers of older polls, even though our numbers continue to rise in every poll,” Sarvis said in the statement. “I am disappointed, but not surprised.”

He added that his campaign, a “breath of fresh air” for Virginians, would carry on.

In 1992 the voters were really pissed off.  Along comes independent Ross Perot who was allowed to participate in the Presidential debates and received nearly 20% of the nation's vote.  A 3rd party Perot received the highest percentage of the vote since Theodore Roosevelt's 27% in 1912.

Perot goes on to form the new Reform Party to compete against the corrupt and entrenched major parties.  Come the 1996 elections the Democrats and Republicans see a threat to their lock on power and banned the Reform Party from the Presidential and Vice Presidential debates.  Ban the candidate of a party that got nearly 20% of the vote!!!!

Does Conservatism even exist?  -  Voters are very unhappy with so-called "Conservatives" in both the United States and Britain.  If Conservatives are simply going to be moderate Socialists then what is the point of existing at all?

According to the website ConservativeHome, the Tories have claimed there are now 134,000 Tory members, down from over 253,000 during the 2005 leadership contest.

The party had earlier this year refused to release the figures amid claims that the number may have fallen below 100,000.

Douglas Carswell, the Conservative MP, has previously warned that the party is “haemorrhaging" members because of David Cameron and his “remote clique” at Westminster reports the UK Telegraph.

Membership of both the Labour and Liberal Democrat parties has fallen in recent years.

However, with a membership of around 187,537, Labour’s numbers are much better than their Conservative rivals.

The UK Independence Party, led by Nigel Farage, has also seen its membership soar to around 40,000 as it picks up disgruntled former Tory voters.

Michael Dugher, Labour’s deputy chairman, said: The halving of Conservative party membership under David Cameron is a damning indictment of Cameron’s out-of-touch and weak leadership.

"Cameron promised change but it's the same old Tory party - standing up for just a privileged few, not for those working people on low and middle incomes. Working people are an average of almost £1,500 a year worse off thanks to the cost of living crisis.

“Labour has increased our membership under Ed Miliband’s leadership. And now Ed Miliband is absolutely determined to keep changing Labour, to open up politics more to the public, and to ensure that Labour is a genuinely One Nation Party that is rooted in every community.

“The Tories are deserting Cameron in their droves. Under Cameron, the Tories are becoming an endangered species. They are getting fewer and fewer in number by the day - no wonder they stand up for the few and not the many.”

But a recent poll puts thie UKIP support base at 17% of British voters, ranking UKIP third after the Tory and Labour parties and ahead of the Lib Dems with only 8%.UKIP's colourful, charismatic and eloquent leader Nigel Farage talks on Australian TV.

After a history making effort, the libertarian Liberal Democratic Party is welcoming our new provisional senator, David Leyonhjelm who scored the fifth senate spot in NSW. Who said we would be battling it out for the final place??????

 

It could have been even better had the Liberals had the sense to preference us ahead of The Palmer United Party, which would have won us a second seat in Tasmania, where our candidate came a whisker short.  The Libs will pay for this in a big way, as we are essentially classical liberals while PUP has a populist grab-bag of policies varying from left of the greens, to the far right of Abbott.

 

In most of the other states we had the third or fourth highest tally of votes at the end of the night.

While we bask in the kudos of the breakthrough, everyone and his dog are talking about us and seeking more information to the point where our website crashed from overuse.  The Liberal Dems are on the way.

Not all of the conversation is happy talk.  The normally sensible ABC election annalist, Antony Green and others are claiming that David's position of first on the ballot caused Liberals to get all confused and in a tizz, bringing about his election.  

 

While we probably benefited from this, it is a little rich to claim that the 8.9% who voted for him were Liberal Party members who cant read very well.  We were conspicuously in second place on the ballot in WA without that happening, so perhaps Antony thinks WA Liberals are much smarter than NSW ones.

 

Perhaps some of the warnings that were issued by the Liberals, that the Liberal Democrats at the head of the ballot were not the Liberal Party drew some attention to us and caused people to have a better look at us and they liked what they saw.



I had a good result in WA with nearly 3.5% but lost out to the Sports Party. We got a little bit of favorable press this time, which was better than the normal cloak of invisibility that gets thrown over us.

 

Overall we increased our vote in every state except Queensland where the Palmer billions crushed us along with all other small parties.

Overall though, we are in a great position to go on to win from here.  In most states we achieved a sufficient primary vote to win with in any other election than this one, which had two new well-funded parties who took most of the oxygen out of the campaign.

 

We now have a voice in federal parliament, which cannot be ignored and a healthy base of enthusiastic supporters who have tasted victory and want to pig out on it.  The sky’s the limit, or perhaps even higher. 

 

Of the two new parties, Katter's saved Labor from defeats in Queensland, while both his and Palmer's did preference deals that resulted in the election of Luddite Greens senators in both Qld and WA.  

This should be neither forgiven, nor forgotten.

Gun-loving Liberal Democrats pull

off greatest election fluke

It is a gun-loving fringe party with a similar name to the new government, but the Liberal Democrats made no apologies for pulling off one of the biggest electoral flukes in Australian history.

Having sneaked 8.5 per cent of the vote - the backing of a staggering 283,000 people - in New South Wales, the six-year-old Liberal Democrats are set to gain at least one Senate seat, veteran election analyst Antony Green said.

Top candidate David Leyonhjelm, who believes we should carry handguns and that marijuana should be legal, admitted many punters had confused his fledgling party with the Liberals but said he was happy to take their votes.

Mr Leyonhjelm plans to form a "loose but powerful" coalition with other fringe parties who performed well, which may include the Australian Sports Labor Party, Motor Enthusiasts Party and one of two likely Palmer United senators including former rugby league great Glenn Lazarus.

"It looks like there will be a small political party senator for each state, so control of the Senate will very likely be in the hands of these parties," he said.

"We are very strong supporters of these parties and we will work together to bring democracy to the Senate."

The GOP leadership is pulling the party apart to back Comrade Obama on Syria.  But I suspect some 75% of GOP opposition to Syria has a lot more to do with self preservation in the 2014 elections than anything else.

This GOP schizophrenia should be expected.  It has been my contention for some time that the "Conservative" Republican Party does not exist.  We basically have a one-party state with two factions that pretend to fight with each other.

Sure there are a few social issues each faction exploits to drum up support: gays, abortion & guns.  But on the important issues of Big Government growth and spending, Police State spying and war the parties are nearly identical.

The only real argument is which faction gets to hand out free crap from the US Treasury to reward their followers.

But the GOP is stumped about Syria.

Obama and the CIA have been running guns to the rebels for some time now.  But Republicans want to pretend they are both blind and deaf.  "We see nothing."  Never mind the stories of gun running are in the British papers for the world to read.

Matt Drudge, founder and editor of the influential Drudge Report, is a conservative by all accounts and he has picked up on this general theme. This last week he lashed out at the GOP and he was anti-Republican Party.

“Why would anyone vote Republican?” Drudge tweeted. “Please give reason. Raised taxes; marching us off to war again; approved more NSA snooping. WHO ARE THEY?!”

 

The tweet came after another that was also critical of the GOP. “It’s now Authoritarian vs. Libertarian,” Drudge wrote. “Since Democrats vs. Republicans has been obliterated, no real difference between parties.”

Libertarian is a nice catch all code word, but it is a bit off. 

It is really Authoritarian vs. Constitutional Federalism.  You either believe in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights or your don't.

That's where the confusion happens on issues like Syria.  You have "Liberal" Democrats and "Conservative" Republicans standing together demanding that the Constitution be ignored and Obama be allowed to bomb the crap out of any nation he wants to.

That is the contest within the GOP for 2014 and 2016. 

Will the rather small and underfunded Constitutional Federalist wing of the Republican Party be able to overcome the mountains of special interest money out of Washington and take control of the party?

What is the Republican Party?  -  WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange brings up a very good point about the nature of the so-called modern "Conservative" movement.  (Something I bring up almost every day.)

Simply, Assange says the "small government" Conservative face of the GOP is a fraud.  I could not agree with him more.  Every time I turn on the TV I see Conservative talking heads, ex-GOP hack appointees and current politicians urging us to bomb the crap out of half the planet. 

War, war and more wars says the GOP while growing an unconstitutional domestic Police State. 

Assange is only mirroring the warnings of GOP President Dwight Eisenhower about the power of the military-industrial complex.


Assange praised United States Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) and his father, Dr. Ron Paul, during an interview Friday in which he said the family has been among the biggest supporters his whistleblowing group has in Congress.

Speaking from the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, Assange said during a live-streamed question-and-answer session that he is “a big admirer of Ron Paul and Rand Paul for their very principled positions in the US Congress on a number of issues.”

The Paul family, added Assange, have been “the strongest supporters of the fight against the US attack on WikiLeaks and on me,” reports RT News.

“The Republican Party in so far as how it has coupled together with the war industry is not a conservative party at all and the Libertarian aspect of the Republican Party is presently the only useful political voice in the US Congress,” said Assange.

Speaking of the rift between the majority of Republican lawmakers and the libertarians more closely aligned in ethos of the Pauls, Assange said, “It will be the driver that shifts the United States around.”

“It’s not going to come from the Democrats, it’s not going to come from Ralph Nader, it’s not going to come from the co-opted parts of the Republican Party,” Assange said. “The only hope as far as electoral politics… presently, is the libertarian section of the Republican Party.”

After the public release of a document in which he suggested that Occupiers and libertarians pose a domestic terror threat to Concord, New Hampshire, the city's police chief has backed away from the claim.

In an application to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) seeking more than $250,000 to purchase an armored police vehicle, the capital city of New Hampshire specified the local branch of the Occupy movement and the Free State Project, an effort to recruit "liberty-loving people" to relocate to the Granite State, as potential sources of terrorist action.

"The State of New Hampshire's experience with terrorism slants primarily towards the domestic type," the filing reads. "We are fortunate that our State has not been victimized from a mass casualty event from an international terrorism strike however on the domestic front, the threat is real and here. Groups such as the Sovereign Citizens, Free Staters and Occupy New Hampshire are active and present daily challenges," reports Mother Jones.

The application was obtained by the New Hampshire Civil Liberties Union (NHCLU) through a public records request, and is one of more than 250 filed by the American Civil Liberties Union to track what it sees as the increasing militarization of police departments throughout the country.

While the sovereign citizens movement has a history of racism and violence, Police Chief John Duval now says that he doesn't actually believe the Free State Project or Occupy New Hampshire are domestic terror threats. "I wish I would have worded things different in retrospect," he says. "I understand why their eyebrows are raised about that." He chalks up the wording to the limitations of writing a detailed proposal in only three pages and says it was meant to refer to the "unpredictable nature of unpredictable people who attach themselves to otherwise lawful situations."

Duval has no plans to issue a formal apology, but he has exchanged emails with Carla Gericke, president of the Free State Project, to explain his position, which he has also attempted to clarify with local reporters.

The city's application says the vehicle, a Lenco BearCat G3, could be used to respond to acts of terrorism involving "chemical, biological, and radiological materials as well as explosive gases" and smaller-scale crises such as "suicidal and hostage situations."

That explanation is unlikely to satisfy Gericke, who accuses the city of "acting in secrecy and making false allegations behind our backs."

Her organization has referred to the vehicle, which is built atop a Ford F-550 frame and has armor that can sustain .50-caliber rifle fire, as a "tank."

She says the the Free State Project has received "overwhelmingly" positive feedback about its concerns. "I think that law enforcement doesn't necessarily understand where we're coming from," she says. "I think they think we're anti-police, but really what we are is pro-freedom and pro-accountability." (Gericke does note that she is suing the Weare, New Hampshire, police department for arresting her in 2011 on a wiretapping charge, later dropped, for allegedly recording a police traffic stop.) On Monday, the Free State Project demanded an apology from city officials.

This Friday, Occupy New Hampshire plans to hold its first general assembly in more than a year to discuss the application. Occupy demonstrations across the country have been met with police using armored vehicles. A May 2012 protest in Oakland, California, for example, drew out a $323,000 vehicle purchased by county officials from the private military company formerly known as Blackwater.

"The Free State movement and Occupy New Hampshire have no history of violence, so it's very unclear why any police department would need to use an armored vehicle when addressing these groups," says Devon Chaffee, executive director of the NHCLU. "But we all agree that we want the police and we want our communities to be safe, and what this conversation is about is really what type of equipment and tactics are most appropriate to achieve that goal. I think this application has sparked a very important conversation."

While DHS has approved Concord's request, the city council, which unanimously approved the application last September, plans to meet next Monday to first address lingering concerns.
